Welcome[edit | edit source]
Belated welcome to the new Electowiki! See User:RobLa and Electowiki:About for notes about the migration.
Let me know on my talk page if there's anything I can help with, if you know of any deleted articles on Wikipedia that could be resurrected here, etc.
This runs on Mediawiki, so it has a lot of the same features as Wikipedia, but is missing a few (like automatic citation generation) and has a few that Wikipedia doesn't (like support for inline YouTube videos). Images from Wikimedia Commons can be used directly without needing to be uploaded. Templates can also be transcluded from other wikis, though it's better to export and import them.
The wiki is 14 years old and has never had a ton of activity, so the goals/policies were never really solidified. Your input is welcome, especially on how to handle the separation of biased advocacy from neutral informative content (which are both welcome). See Electowiki:The caucus for the discussion topics and Electowiki:Policy. — Psephomancy (talk) 05:04, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
Welcome again[edit | edit source]
Hello, and welcome back to electowiki! I'm going to assume that you are the same Jameson Quinn that has been associated with the [[Center for Election Science (per this article: https://electionscience.org/commentary-analysis/instant-runoff-voting-supreme-court-gets-it-wrong-on-irv/ . Please let me know if it's a case of mistaken identity. Regardless, you can see that I moved SPARTA voting to User:Jameson Quinn/SPARTA voting. The editing history is still accurate, and we can move the article back to SPARTA voting when you're done working on it.
As you know, we share many of the same policies as English Wikipedia. I wrote a "memo" to new users back in May that I update every so often, which you can find here: User:RobLa/Welcome. Even if you already feel comfortable editing electowiki, please read this memo. I still consider it a very important unofficial policy statement, and much of the contents will probably be officially incorporated into the policy of this website.
Thanks! I look forward to building electowiki with you! -- RobLa (talk) 04:28, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- You are correct about my identity. But I am no longer affiliated with the CES; now, I am on the board of the Equal Vote Coalition instead. Jameson Quinn (talk) 16:44, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
- Cool, welcome back! Could you put in a brief intro at User:Jameson Quinn? -- RobLa (talk) 06:12, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
