The Central United States is defined (on electowiki) as states whose capitol city is in the Central Time Zone. This includes: Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Advocacy in the Central United States:
- STL Approves - effort in St. Louis, Missouri to adopt an ordinance to establish approval voting for selection of Mayor, Comptroller, President of the Board of Aldermen, and Alderman, and both in the primary and general election.
- North Dakota
- Reform Fargo - successful 2018 effort to bring approval voting to municipal elections in Fargo, North Dakota.
