Copying bitmaps of papers

This comment is mainly a response to User:Dr. Edmonds, after an exchange on the File:Core.jpg page, which I'll quote below, annotating with our respective user names:

Now my response: uploading a context-free image of a bitmap of a paper is a problematic addition to this wiki. The lack of context and the lack of ASCII text makes it difficult to edit or even comment upon. It's unclear why the image is even on this wiki. Under File:Core.jpg#File_usage, it would seem there are no pages on this wiki that use the image (and provide an explanation of the image to the layperson). Per Project:EPOV, there should be a public discussion in one of the trusted forums (which may have happened, but it's not my job to provide the discussion reference; it's your job, User:Dr. Edmonds). Why should the image be kept on electowiki? -- RobLa (talk) 10:51, 24 June 2022 (UTC)

As the person who User:Dr. Edmonds asked on Talk:Stable Winner Set, I'll try to provide some context. Edmonds had originally uploaded the picture as an example in the Stable Winner Set article. He later asked me how to handle the differing font sizes (in particular, the font size of the picture being too large), and I responded by saying that it would be better to just reproduce the example in text, which I then did.
When the file was first uploaded, there was a reason to have it: to provide an example of the core not implying fairness (and possibly being inconsistent with divisor-type proportionality). But now that it's been restated in text, there probably isn't anymore. Kristomun (talk) 19:06, 25 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks Kristomun. There was originally two reasons for the image. First, was that I did not know how to do the Latex formatting well enough to reproduce it. Secondly, there was an graphic which went with the example. Kristomun, has resolved the first reason but the second still remains. I think the image helps with the explanation of the example but it is still fine without it.
For future reference, what are we intended to do to show that the author is OK with use of their content?--Dr. Edmonds (talk) 03:24, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
