Rob LeGrand's site
User:RobLa, can you access Rob LeGrand's site? I'm getting timeouts for cs.angelo.edu:
$ telnet cs.angelo.edu 443
Trying 72.18.165.85...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed out
$ telnet cs.angelo.edu 80
Trying 72.18.165.85...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed out
and https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/cs.angelo.edu also says that it's down. Kristomun (talk) 22:37, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- The website ( https://cs.angelo.edu ) appears to be up, and even tells me this:
Department of Computer Science — The demand for programmers, software and app developers, cybersecurity experts and other information technology professionals has never been greater.
- I'm not sure why https://cs.angelo.edu/~rlegrand/rbvote/calc.html isn't working for you, since it's working for me. Might be time to try running "
traceroute
" to see if your computer can reachcs.angelo.edu
. Or it could be that the web server running on ports 80 and 443 ofcs.angelo.edu
was offline earlier today. - RobLa (talk) 00:54, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- They appear to be doing some kind of geo-blocking. I checked with a Qatar proxy and a Hong Kong one - no dice. Then I checked with a US proxy and it went through with no problem. Mexico also seems to pass. (I did check that the proxies could access other sites.) My traceroute ends somewhere after Cogent: 208.76.224.185 is the last response, and this netblock is controlled by an organization called LEARN, https://www.learn.k12.ct.us/. I'll add a note about it. Kristomun (talk) 10:38, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
