Welcome!

A belated "welcome!" to you, Apparently my name violates the rules!! Thank you for contributing to electowiki! Please read User:RobLa/Welcome if you haven't already; most of what I wrote there last year still applies. I'm curious, which rule do you believe is broken by "the rules"? -- RobLa (talk) 22:33, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey Rob! It’s Sass. Your name filters detected the word “ass” in my name and wouldn’t let me proceed. That’s all. Also, I don’t know if the edit function is how I’m supposed to “talk” to you? It’s a bit unclear, but I hope you get this message. -- unsigned comment by Apparently my name violates the rules [ contribs ] 01:45, 1 July 2021
Oh, hi Sass! You may want to note the problem you were having over on https://meta.miraheze.org somewhere. Accounts all use the same login information all over Miraheze. You can almost certainly get your user account renamed to something that's a little shorter and easier to deal with, but Apparently my name violates the rules works for me, assuming you like that name. Anyway, it's great having you here! -- RobLa (talk) 08:27, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

Username

Hi, I'm really sorry that you've had an issue with registration (I've seen your message in #miraheze-cvt). You can request a rename via m:Special:GlobalRenameRequest where Stewards can override the default blacklist for usernames. If it's not done in 1-2 days please feel free to ping me on IRC or to email me and I'll ask a Steward to look into it. Reception123 (talk) 11:29, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

Reception123 Hrm, that's strange. It shouldn't cause an issue with the title blacklist. If it is, we should look at fixing the regex for that. Whistles to Void. Dmehus (talk) 01:36, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Note for all, matching three letters anywhere in a string is generally way too sensitive and prone to false positives. This has been fixed. -- Void Whispers 13:32, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, Void! :) Dmehus (talk) 21:28, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
