The forum was planned to be shut down in July 2020,<ref name=":0">Archived announcement from the [[Center for Election Science]]: https://web.archive.org/web/20200626123342/https://forum.electionscience.org/ (author: Felix Sargent, Chair of [[Center for Election Science]])</ref> although this was delayed to accommodate plans by the users to migrate to a new forum. Ultimately activity on the forum stopped in early 2021 and the server was taken down in late 2021<ref name="wa" />. The "Election Theory" topic on the forum was the most active in early 2020.
