My suggested improvement to IRV, [[user:RalphInOttawa/Standard Vote]], sort of has that CHANCE FOR APPEAL (ana claimed advantage of normal runoff voting over IRV). in that the supportersSupporters of the first instant runoff’s runner-up arewill essentiallydefinitely givenhave thistheir opportunitydown withballot apreferences countable in the second instant runoff. And the supportersSupporters of the first runoff winner get the same deal with a third instant runoff if they need it. The campaigningCampaigning by opinioncandidates pollleading in public opinion leaderspolls would remain MORE POSITIVE because the voter’s order of preference can’t be changed between the instant runoffs. There is no forgiving and forgetting over what was said during a negative campaign.
