The requirement for a winner also isn't to achieve a majority of the votes but instead have the most votes once there's only two candidates left, It also uses a ballot that I personally believe better represents a voters beleif and if done right is very simple to interpret and can easily be adapted to other systems if reforms must happen. The multi winner system atributed to it is also more simular to proportional approval systems then proportional IRV systems.
