Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | The 2024 San Francisco mayoral election will be happening on November 5, 2024, using instant-runoff voting (known in San Francisco as "ranked-choice voting").[1] This election was scheduled to be held in November 2023, but because of Proposition H (passed in 2022), the election now coincides with U.S. presidential elections.[2] Both prior to Proposition H and after its enactment, San Francisco mayoral races were held every four years. Breed first became mayor in the 2018 San Francisco mayoral special election, and was reelected in the 2019 San Francisco mayoral election. |
