Meme contest[edit | edit source]
I would like to create a meme contest. We can use electowiki to vote. To nominate a meme:
- Place a bullet under "Votes November 2020" and sign it
- For example:
* [https://example.com an example meme]
" in raw wikitext)
- For example:
- Add another bullet under that, and add your vote
- For example:
** +1 -- ~~~~
"
- For example:
- Valid votes: "+1" (approved), "0" (neutral), and "-1" (explicitly not approved). The votes will be tallied using Explicit Approval Voting at the end of each month of the survey (i.e. at the end of November 2020 for #Votes November 2020)).
Wiki syntax is kinda complicated, and some voters may not feel comfortable with it. Also, some voters may not be comfortable using a wiki to vote, since wikis are notoriously leaky with personal information (i.e. even "anonymous" editors will reveal their IP address). But let's see if we can use a wiki for voting. -- RobLa (talk) 22:53, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Votes January 2021[edit | edit source]
There haven't been any inspiring memes yet this year.
Votes December 2020[edit | edit source]
There were no inspiring memes in December 2020.
Votes November 2020[edit | edit source]
- FIRST MEME: A meme from electionscience.org
- SECOND MEME: (your meme here)
- (your vote here)
- (your meme here)
- (votes)
- (your meme here)
- ...
- LAST MEME - THIS MEME INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK
There was one vote in November, by me. As a result, the "FIRST MEME" won. -- RobLa (talk) 10:07, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Using electowiki for public voting[edit | edit source]
I updated the meme contest up above on this page. For what it's worth, MediaWiki has a very rich API which can be used to edit talk pages. The format I defined above is reasonably readable for humans, and wouldn't be that hard for someone motivated enough to parse. But since folks aren't voting, there's no point (yet) in writing the software. -- RobLa (talk) 10:07, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
