Welcome!

A belated welcome to electowiki, User:Marcus Ogren. Per the video conversation we had in User:Sass's call, we appreciate your contribution of the "Score cascading vote" article. I'm not sure how I missed it when you first posted it, but I'm glad you brought it up. I hope you find time to keep contributing to electowiki, and we'd all appreeciate it if you put a little blurb about yourself on your user page ("User:Marcus Ogren"), even if that blurb states "I'm an introvert. Leave me alone!", or "I created the 'Score cascading vote' page; that's all I plan to do". You could even just place a link to "Special:Contributions/Marcus Ogren" on the page. Regardless, I also hope you find a chance to read "User:RobLa/Welcome", which is a slightly longer welcome message that I ask all new users to read. Thanks again for contributing to electowiki! -- RobLa (talk) 06:25, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

External links

Just FYI, Electowiki does allow external links! The format is like this: www.example.com or just http://www.example.com. The format for references (such as for academic papers) is a bit different; I tend to use Citer for citing papers because it handles filling in the otherwise tedious details. Marcus: Huh, I got a rather angry automated messaged when I tried it. unsigned comment by Marcus Ogren - unknown timestamp (UTC)
That's strange. Perhaps there's some kind of reputation system going on? User:RobLa, do you know if electowiki limits new users from posting URLs? Kristomun (talk) 15:52, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
Re: User:Kristomun .... I don't know off the top of my head. I suspect it might be just a matter of getting 10 changes or more on electowiki (and/or some other Miraheze-hosted wiki), but that's just a vaguely informed guess. A good place to ask about it if you don't wait for me to get around to researching is to join the Miraheze Discord server and ask someone there. There may also be some publicly-available information about what various user roles can do. I'm also not sure what/where the angry automated message was; it could just be a matter of following the English Wikipedia mantra: "BE BOLD" (and ignore the angry warning). -- RobLa (talk) 19:23, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
