Welcome

Hi Sara,

Welcome to the new Electowiki! See User:RobLa and Electowiki:About for notes about the migration.

Let me know on my talk page if there's anything I can help with, if you know of any deleted articles on Wikipedia that could be resurrected here, etc.

This runs on Mediawiki, so it has a lot of the same features as Wikipedia, but is missing a few (like automatic citation generation) and has a few that Wikipedia doesn't (like support for inline YouTube videos). Images from Wikimedia Commons can be used directly without needing to be uploaded. Templates can also be transcluded from other wikis, though it's better to export and import them.

The wiki is 14 years old and has never had a ton of activity, so the goals/policies were never really solidified. Your input is welcome, especially on how to handle the separation of biased advocacy from neutral informative content (which are both welcome). See Electowiki:The caucus for the discussion topics and Electowiki:Policy. — Psephomancy (talk) 17:31, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

STAR Voting

Hi Sara, thanks for contributing the STAR Voting article! Unfortunately, as User:BetterVotingAdvocacy pointed out, we already have an article at STAR voting. My plan (barring speedy objection here/elsewhere) would be to do the following:

  1. . Move STAR Voting to User:Sarawolk/STAR Voting
  2. . Make STAR Voting redirect to STAR voting
  3. . (optional) Change the link from Equal Vote Coalition to point to STAR voting (though the redirect should make this unnecessary)
  4. . At your leisure, you (or anyone on Electowiki) can decide how to merge the text of User:Sarawolk/STAR Voting into STAR voting

I'll start doing this now, but please alert me (by replying here) if you want to pursue a different plan. -- RobLa (talk) 02:34, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

I've made the changes described ^above. -- RobLa (talk) 02:56, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

Welcome from RobLa

Hi User:Sarawolk, a very belated welcome to Electowiki! A tradition/habit I seem to be establishing is to not assume who the Electowiki editor is based on the username of the user (e.g. it's still officially a mystery to me who "User:RRichie" is on English Wikipedia, despite a few hunches based on User:RRichie's contributions to Wikipedia). Would you mind introducing yourself on your user page (at User:Sarawolk)? If you prefer to remain anonymous, you can just put "none of your business". The reason why I ask for introductions: I think it's helpful for the community to know any potential conflicts of interest you may have when you edit articles here. Thanks! -- RobLa (talk) 02:56, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
