(User:Dmehus: thanks for chiming in! Do you really think it's important to replicate both "wikipedia:Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard" and "wikipedia:Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard" here on electowiki?)

::: RobLa No, it's probably not necessary to have both noticeboards, but since bureaucrats' roles are more limited, it would probably be better to just have an Electowiki:Administrators' noticeboard, which would include bureaucrat requests, though some bureaucrat requests requiring a community discussion will occur at Electowiki:Community portal, presumably. This is the discussion page (the "Talk:" page) for the page named "Electowiki:Bureaucrats". Please use this page to discuss the topic described in the corresponding page in the main namespace (i.e. the "Electowiki:Bureaucrats" page here on electowiki), or visit Help:Talk to learn more about talk pages.

electowiki Bureaucrats noticeboard

We don't (yet) have an official noticeboard for electowiki bureaucrats. I think we should, so that User:Jameson Quinn, User:Psephomancy and User:RobLa (i.e. me) don't make changes to the access settings that surprise any of the other bureaucrats.

As of today, users are required to add a valid email address to edit electowiki. I changed the $wgEmailConfirmToEdit setting to "true". That setting effectively prohibits "anonymous" editing (from what I'm told). Please leave a message here or on User talk:RobLa if you object to this change. -- RobLa (talk) 23:45, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

RobLa As an ElectoWiki community member, a bureaucrats' noticeboard would be helpful, I think. It would also be a good, centralized place for Stewards and Global Sysops to notify of any global actions they've had to take in lieu of local administration (i.e., counter-vandalism). Not that ElectoWiki has many problems with vandalism requiring immediate attention, but it's prudent to plan for the future. If I may make one suggestion, though, I'd recommend the noticeboard location be Electowiki:Bureaucrats' noticeboard, with Electowiki:Bureaucrats the policy page for bureaucrats. You could also have an Electowiki:Administrators' noticeboard, too. Dmehus (talk) 23:50, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus:: thanks for chiming in! I'm not so sure that we need to replicate all the processes and page names of English Wikipedia, do we? Since I haven't seen @Psephomancy: or @Jameson Quinn: editing this wiki in quite some time, I'm not so sure we need to try replicating both "Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard" and "wikipedia:Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard" here on electowiki. How common is it for other Miraheze wikis to have both types of noticeboards? -- RobLa (talk) 04:55, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
RobLa No, it's probably not necessary to have both noticeboards, but since bureaucrats' roles are more limited, it would probably be better to just have an Electowiki:Administrators' noticeboard, which would include bureaucrat requests, though some bureaucrat requests requiring a community discussion will occur at Electowiki:Community portal, presumably. On Meta Wiki, what we've been doing is using Meta:Administrators' noticeboard for both administrator and bureaucrat requests. Dmehus (talk) 14:55, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
