Welcome

Welcome, User:Devoutmoderate! I noticed that you put a somewhat skeptical point of view on Benham's method, which is good. You made me realize that there'a lot of copyediting that needs to occur on that article to come up to English Wikipedia's standard for quality of prose (which we should strive for with all electowiki articles) as well as EPOV (which should be closer English Wikipedia's "NPOV" than electowiki articles typically have right now in early 2022).

Anyway, if you haven't read "User:RobLa/Welcome" yet, please do. There's some important information for you in that welcome letter (especially about the "User:Devoutmoderate" page, which is currently empty). I hope you contribute to other electowiki articles, too! -- RobLa (talk) 21:06, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

@RobLa: Thanks! Yeah, I was just reading up on it and I thought the article was a bit too effusive. The performance of this site needs work though, so I dunno if I'll contribute much as every click to edit or even view content takes a very long time. I mostly mess about on wikipedia, but this site seems to be top Google results for some election stuff, so figured I'd edit a bit here. It would be wonderful if one site or the other published a comprehensive analysis table of all systems, maybe I'll take that up. Ideally somebody could rank the importance of various criteria, and an election system could be chosen that way- very meta, right? :) --Devoutmoderate (talk) 21:23, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, performance is a bit of a problem right now. My understanding from the Miraheze SRE team (see meta:Tech:SRE Volunteers) is that the move to the hardware that was recently purchased should improve performance of the website. See meta:Community noticeboard#Things to note for the upcoming migration and downtime notice to learn more about the migration to the new hardware (happening in mid-January). I'm hopeful that the Miraheze hardware migration will fix electowiki. -- RobLa (talk) 07:25, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
